Influence - Environment
Baltic Green Day
Over 40 participants gathered in Växjö, Sweden on February 8th
to discuss environmental issues and how young people can
influence.
The Mayor of Växjö, Mr. Bo Frank welcomed the participants and
spoke about Växjö being the greenest city in Europe. Jan Sjökvist,
project manager of Young Energy People held an informative
lecture on how our environment is changing all around the
globe. A workshop regarding the environment led to interesting
discussions and sharing of experiences on how to make a positive
impact on the environment.

The topic for the second part of the day was
influence. Rebecka Jakobsson, youth ombudsman at Umeå municipality
spoke about different ways for young people to influence and
Elin Gräns from the Växjö Student Union spoke about how students
can influence their situation. A workshop on the topic was held
and a summary of the results will be sent to the European
Commissioner responsible for Youth affairs.
